About path constraints

Hello! Hope it's not a bother, I've just finished the course and was thinking of making a rig to test some things and a doubt came up. I noticed that, for example, in the Mix-and-match project, they use path constraints for the legs and arms. Also if I remember correctly, there's a snake/dragon that has a similar setup on the neck. What's the benefit of doing that compared to a "basic" rig with only bones? So far, I've only used paths for things that were constantly moving (like bats flying on a path). Thanks in advance!

Path constraints allow curved shapes. If you want to show knees you don't need path constraints

Question

Hi everyone!

I wasn’t sure where to ask this, so I’m writing here. A couple of times during the lesson, there was a phrase like: "If you want to know how to rig something with IK Constraints, check the video on the screen."

But I didn’t see any link or explanation on the screen about where to find this video. There are also no links or additional videos under the main video.

Is this how it’s supposed to be? Or did I miss something?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey, this can happen. I included parts of my YouTube videos in the lesson and didn’t notice that in one of them, I refer to some external videos. Anyway, if you search on YouTube, those videos should show up and they’re free to watch

issue in transform constraint

Hi Armaan, I was checking Bow rigging tutorial on your YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMQcfFs2kRs and found it very interesting. When I was trying it and applying transform constraint, the target bones don't stay in the same place. I am using 3.8.75 version. Attaching screenshots and spine file. Would appreciate if you can look into it. A Big Thanks

You cant do that in 3.8 with one constraint, it does not provide separate axes for constraints, in the video I show that I also set Y axis in the constraint it will collapse the target bones together in the center, your target bone moves up because you pressed match, spine matches with the first bone position which was the top bone so bottom target bone goes there
